For her performance in the musical drama *Tharai Thappattai* (2016), Sarathkumar won the SIIMA Award for Best Actress (Critics) – Tamil. Her credits during this period included the neo-noir action thriller *Vikram Vedha* (2017), *Nibunan* (2017), *Sathya* (2017), the political drama *Sarkar* (2018), and *Sandakozhi 2* (2018). She made her Telugu debut with *Tenali Ramakrishna BA.BL* (2019).
In the 2020s, Sarathkumar expanded her screen presence across Telugu cinema with *Krack* (2021), *Naandhi* (2021), *Yashoda* (2022), and *Veera Simha Reddy* (2023), winning the IIFA Utsavam Award for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu for the latter. Her subsequent releases included *Kota Bommali PS* (2023), the superhero film *Hanu-Man* (2024), *Sabari* (2024), *Raayan* (2024), the Kannada release *Max* (2024), and *Madha Gaja Raja* (2025).
